Comparing LSV to a VTX

Been skiing behind a friend's 22 LSV lately and loving the boat, but I'm primarily a slalom guy, and mm.. it gets the job done, I've spent years behind a 2015 VTX and honestly, it's spoiled me, I'm now considering either going back to a newer VTX or maybe sticking with something bigger that my family would enjoy more, especially for wakeboarding and cruising, at that the same time, II don't want to completely give up a decent ski wake either
I know nothing's going to match a TXi, but for recreational open water stuff, is anything else close? I've heard mixed things about the 21 LX and even some surprises from the newer LSV hulls with zero ballast

When it comes to slalom, it's all about the ballast and wake shape. The newer VTX boats usually perform better for skiing than the LSVs. It's mainly because the LSVs don't have enough ballast to create those solid wakes

Are you leaning more toward optimizing for your own slalom performance, or finding that sweet spot where the boat still delivers a decent ski wake while keeping the family happy for wakeboarding and cruising?
