I came across a 2012 Wakesetter VLX with the diamond hull I've been searching for. I was originally aiming for a VTX, but this one fits the bill too. It's 300 pounds heavier, 6 inches wider, and a foot longer. I'm curious how that extra size affects skiing. Will it still handle well, or feel too bulky? Anyone skied behind both and can share thoughts?

Will a wakesetter VLX ski like a VTX?

I've had the chance to ski behind both, and to be honest, the VLX with the diamond hull really stands out. It's slightly wider and heavier, but when you're skiing, the wake remains clean and smooth. A friend of mine made the switch from a VTX to a VLX for the same reason,he wanted more space without sacrificing a good ski wake. Unless you're into competing in serious tournaments, it won't feel cumbersome at all. Instead, you'll appreciate the added stability without any drag. Have you had the chance to test it yet?
I also have skied behind both. so, VLX is good, VTX is better for hardcore skiing. The VLX will throw a decent ski wake, but the extra weight and length make it feel a little less crisp on turns and the wake will have a bit more body.
